  • 02 Oct 2018 Indonesia – Earthquake and tsunami

    Pos Indonesia has advised they had temporarily suspended processing and delivery of all postal items to the following postcodes due to a  7.4-magnitude earthquake and tsunami that hit the country on 28 September 2018, devastating Palu, Donggala and Mamuju in the Central Sulawesi province. Most of the buildings and roads in the affected areas suffered major damage, and electricity, communication and fuel were cut off.

    –  Palu:                                          941xx to 942xx

    –  Donggala, Parigi and Moutong: 943xx

    –  Mamuju Utara:                            915xx

  • 02 Oct 2018 United States – Update on Hurricane

    United States Postal Service (USPS) has updated that, while  Hurricane Florence has now passed, the flooding crisis remains.  Hurricane Florence, which made landfall in North Carolina as a hurricane on 14 September 2018, has left behind a wide path of destruction. Residents across the Carolinas continue to deal with historic levels of flooding. USPS’s  top priority is the safety of its customers and employees.   • 02 Oct 2018 Nigeria – Strike

    Nigerian Postal Service has advised that inbound and outbound international postal operations as well as domestic deliveries are affected by a strike by labour union in Nigeria, which commenced on 27 September 2018.

  • 24 Sep 2018 Italy – Normal Operations

    Poste Italiane has updated that all postal services are back to normal following disruption caused by the collapse of a bridge along the A10 highway in Genoa.

  • 24 Sep 2018 Indonesia – Normal Operations

    PT Pos Indonesia has advised that postal services are back to normal following the disruption caused by the earthquake in Lombok Island, Indonesia. However, delays are to be expected in the processing and delivery of all postal items.

  • 20 Sep 2018 Philippines – Typhoon

    Philippines Postal Corporation has advised that super typhoon Mangkhut has affected the northern part of Luzon in the Philippines on 15 September 2018.  Some of the roads are not passable due to landslides and floods. Delays in the processing of mails and transmission of tracking events are expected in the areas with the following postcodes:

    2000-2001, 2003-2004, 2010, 2012-2026, 2400, 2410, 2413-2414, 2417-2418, 2420, 2423-2424, 2600, 2604-2606, 2610, 2714, 2810, 2814-2815, 2922, 3002-3003, 3011, 3015, 3019, 3106, 3108, 3110-3112, 3116, 3602-3609, 3800-3802 and 3806.

  • 19 Sep 2018 United States – Hurricane Florence

    United States Postal Service (USPS) has advised that Hurricane Florence, which has been causing historic levels of flooding in the Carolinas, has now been downgraded to a tropical depression, but remains a serious threat. The storm continues to dump extreme amounts of rainfall, producing flash flooding, river flooding and a risk of landslides. Areas affected include much of North Carolina and portions of South Carolina and southwest Virginia.

     

    USPS is continuing to monitor the storm as it moves inland, and its top priority is the safety of its customers and employees. Some post offices have suspended operations, mainly in the areas with postcodes range from 27000 to 29999 and 23000 to 23999. Deliveries and other services in the region will also be affected.

  • 18 Sep 2018 Macao – Typhoon Mangkhut

    Macao Post has advised that due to the effects of Typhoon Mangkhut on the Macao Special Administration Region, postal delivery services were suspended on 17 September 2018. Services have resumed on 18 September 2018. Service delays may be expected.

  • 07 Sep 2018 Japan – Earthquake

    Japan Post has advised that it is experiencing delays in domestic transportation and delivery of mail items and parcels in the Hokkaido region (postcode: 0004-09 ), due to the impact of the strong earthquake that hit this region in the northern part of Japan on 6 September 2018.

     

  • 07 Sep 2018 Costa Rica – Strike

    Correos de Costa Rica has advised that the public sector labour unions have called an indefinite strike as of 10 September 2018. This action will affect the collection, processing and delivery of all inbound and outbound mails.  Service delays are expected.
